The Los Vaqueros arena in Big Bear City is available for rent, on a limited basis, to organized equestrian groups. In previous years, we have hosted gymkhanas, bull ridings, rodeos (PRCA, amateur, and military), team roping, cattle sorting, team penning, and barrel racing, to name a few. Overnight dry camping is allowed with permission. There currently is no septic available, and there are limited electrical and water hook-ups, so please come prepared. We do have some permanent horse pens available for your group, but please check with us first as to availability.
Our arena is vigorously maintained by our members, and features excellent ground for your event. We have portable toilets on site, and can bring in more as needed. We also have a meeting room in our Vaqueros Lodge building, an announcers crow’s nest (complete with public address system), lights, and a kitchen building.
During the summer months, we often have cattle available for sorting or penning (at an additional charge). Trail guides are also available at an additional charge.
Arena rentals start at $350, and will vary depending on your requirements and the length of your stay. An insurance certificate naming the Los Vaqueros de las Montañas as an additional insured is always required.
